I dreamt of a place that seemed similar to the one I used to live during my teenage years. It was different in some ways but familiar in others. Even though I wasn't lucid dreaming, at some point I just began to fly like a superhero, very fast. Also, when I am lucid dreaming, usually flying is my very first thought. However, once I take off, I have no idea where to go, and the world below me just disappears, becomes grayish and empty, like a game that stopped loading the scenario. Sometimes, I try to take off and fail. Hit the ceiling or just don't fly at all. Why do I always try to fly in dreams, even when I am not aware that it is a dream?
Flying dreams often symbolize a desire to escape from everyday problems and have a sense of control and freedom in your waking life. In this dream, returning to the place you lived during your teenage years may symbolize a desire to reconnect with a simpler time in your life when things were less complicated. Flying like a superhero could reflect your desire to be more powerful and in control of your life. However, the fact that the world below you disappears and becomes empty may suggest that you feel lost or uncertain about your direction in life. Your inability to fly sometimes may indicate a feeling of being held back or restricted in some way. Overall, this dream may be reflecting your subconscious desires to feel empowered and free in your waking life.
